No license? No problem.

No driver’s license is required to participate. The MonsteRoller is allowed on the bike paths in Budapest and we use them wherever we can. During the Essence of Budapest Tour, we mainly go on bike paths and you’ll be led by one of our experienced guides.

Tours start in all weather conditions, please dress accordingly. In case of cold weather, wear layered clothing! High heel shoes and short skirts are not recommended.
Please arrive sober! Due to the nature of this activity, we reserve the right to cancel your ride without a refund if you are intoxicated.
All participants are required to sign our general conditions of contract on site before engaging in the activity (guests under 18 years old must have an adult sign for them). Our complete terms are available here.
Please note that for group bookings of 10 or more people, we reserve the right to split the group into two or more groups and start them a few minutes apart for safer riding and in order to minimize disturbance of city traffic.

Excellent tour for overview of Budapest attractions

The 1.5 hours tour is a very good way to get an overview of some of the main attractions of Budapest. It is very convenient to ride the electrical bikes and the route is quite accomodating to the bike usage. Our tour leader Attila was very knowledeable and with a very good sense of humor. He took really good care of us snd answered every question we had. He also took ample time to take photographs of us. I highly recommend this tour as an alternative to walking or Segway tours if you have been on a push bike or motor bike before.

I was a little apprehensive before we set off but there really was no need to be worried. Attila took us to a quiet side street so that we could familiarise ourselves with the bikes, we then set off at a gentle pace and were thoroughly entertained by Attilla’s knowledge and narrative which was wonderful, it really was a fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend doing it!

Do I need a driver's license?
What is needed to participate?
- Age limit: tour participants must be 14 years or older to drive (under adult supervision).
- You must have a valid photo ID card or a copy of your passport with you. One photo ID per group will be photographed as a deposit during the rental period.
- Due to the nature of the activity, drivers must be sober during the tour. If you arrive intoxicated, we will be forced to cancel your ride without a refund.
- Everyone is required to sign our terms & conditions before the tour. You can read the complete terms by clicking here.
- Please arrive a few minutes early to get set for your tour without any rush.
What should I wear?

Where does my e-scooter tour start from?

The Essence of Budapest Tour starts from our Buda side location at Várkert rakpart 16, 1013 Budapest (open in Google maps). It’s a 3-minute walk from Döbrentei tér bus station (bus lines 8E, 108E, 110 or 112) or from Rudas gyógyfürdő station (bus lines 7 and 107; trams 19, 41 and 56).

The tour ends at the same location.

We're a large group. Can we ride together?

We’ll do our best to accommodate everyone who’d like to ride and to make sure you can ride together with your entire group. However, in case of large groups of 10 or more people, we reserve the right to divide the group into more than one group and start them a few minutes apart for maximum safety, and in order to minimize disturbance to city traffic. Thank you for understanding.
What are the tipping customs in Hungary?
What if it rains?

Bookings are valid whether rain or shine, so please dress accordingly. But don’t worry: we can provide rain ponchos if needed, and gloves if it gets cold.

However, in case of extreme weather conditions or unforeseen events, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the activity until next availability. If we cancel for such reasons, you will receive a full refund.

Rescheduling tours: Tours can be rescheduled if given advance notice of more than 24 hours (based on availability). If you let us know within less than 24 hours that you cannot make it but would like to rebook for another date or time, or you don’t show up for your tour but would like to reschedule, you will be charged a rebooking fee of €15/person. Thank you for understanding.
What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellations are available up to 24 hours before start time. After then, a 100% cancellation fee is charged.

Rescheduling rentals: MonsteRoller e-scooter rentals can be rescheduled based on availability. If you cannot make it at the original booked time, let us know as soon as you can and our team will do our best to offer you alternate options – however, please note that it’s subject to availability and in high season, we may not be able to give you another suitable option due to a large number of reservations. Please note that if you are trying to reschedule within 24 hours and we cannot give you another suitable date, you will not be entitled to a refund.
