Conditions and additional information

Bookings are valid in all weather conditions (but can be rescheduled with advance notice based on availability).
Please arrive sober! Due to the nature of this activity, we reserve the right to cancel your ride without a refund if you are intoxicated.
All participants are required to sign our general terms and conditions on site before engaging in the activity (guests under 18 years old must have an adult sign for them). Our complete terms are available here.
Please note that for group bookings of 10 or more people, we reserve the right to split the group into two or more groups and start them a few minutes apart for safer riding and in order to minimize disturbance of city traffic.

What to bring

Please bring valid photo ID and arrive a few minutes early before your booked start time. One photo ID per group will be photographed as a deposit during the rental period.
The listed price does not include a EUR 100 or HUF 40 000 per vehicle security deposit, payable on the spot. The deposit is refundable after you return the MonsteRoller in proper condition.
Comfort is key, please wear casual and preferably layered clothing. High heel shoes and short skirts are not recommended.

Do I need a driver's license?
What is needed to participate?
Age limit: participants must be 16 years or older for self-guided rides (under adult supervision).

You must have a valid photo ID card or a copy of your passport with you. One photo ID per group will be photographed as a deposit during the rental period.

The listed price does not include a security deposit of €100 or HUF 40 000 per vehicle, payable on the spot. The deposit is refundable at the return after rental.

Due to the nature of the activity, drivers must be sober during the tour. If you arrive intoxicated, we will be forced to cancel your ride without a refund.

If you’ve just arrived to Budapest and aren’t sure what to see yet, our team can give you recommendations before you head out for places to visit and landmarks to see. If you already know what you want, we can help you with the best route to get there. In either case, our team is happy to show you the best routes to get around quickly and effortlessly in our beloved city.
Can I use the bike lanes with electric scooters?

Yes. Our MonsteRoller electric scooters qualify as e-bikes so you can use the bike lanes. In fact, our tour routes mostly use bike paths and we recommend using them during self-guided rides as well for the safest and most enjoyable ride. If you rent a MonsteRoller e-scooter, you can ask our team to give you route recommendations and they will be happy to help.
Where does my e-scooter ride start from?

Self-guided MonsteRoller rentals start from our downtown location at Bécsi utca 8, 1052 Budapest (open in Google maps). It’s a 2-minute walk from Deák Ferenc tér metro station (lines M1, M2 and M3).

By default, your ride ends at the same location. However, if you let our team know in advance, in most cases it’s possible for you to drop off your scooter at our other location on the Buda side at Várkert rakpart 16, 1013 Budapest (open in Google maps) at the end of your ride.

Also, it’s possible to start your ride from our location at Várkert rakpart if that suits you better, but please get in touch with our team directly to make sure we have enough capacity at that location and we can prepare the bikes you booked.

I have some bags with me. Can I leave them at the store?
We're a large group. Can we ride together?

We’ll do our best to accommodate everyone who’d like to ride and try to make sure you can ride together with your group. However, in case of large groups of 10 or more people, we reserve the right to divide the group into more than one group and start them a few minutes apart for maximum safety, and in order to minimize disturbance to city traffic. Thank you for understanding.
What if it rains?

Bookings are valid whether rain or shine, so please dress accordingly. But don’t worry: we can provide rain ponchos if needed, and gloves if it gets cold.

However, in case of extreme weather conditions or unforeseen events, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the activity until next availability. If we cancel for such reasons, you will receive a full refund.

Rescheduling rentals: Rentals can be rescheduled based on availability. If you cannot make it at the original booked time, let us know as soon as you can and our team will do our best to offer you alternate options – however, please note that it’s subject to availability and in high season, we may not be able to give you another suitable option due to a large number of reservations. Please note that if you are trying to reschedule within 24 hours and we cannot give you another suitable date, you will not be entitled to a refund.
What is your cancellation policy?

Rescheduling tours: Tours can be rescheduled if given advance notice of more than 24 hours (based on availability). If you let us know within less than 24 hours that you cannot make it but would like to rebook for another date or time, or you don’t show up for your tour but would like to reschedule, you will be charged a rebooking fee of €15/person. Thank you for understanding.
