Important:

While we do take last-minute bookings, our tours regularly sell out especially on weekends. To get your preferred choice and avoid missing out, we highly recommend booking your tour as soon as possible.

You don’t need a license.

The MonsteRoller e-scooters don’t require a driver’s license and they are allowed on Budapest’s bike paths as well, which we use on all of our tours where available. While the road up to the Citadel includes some low-traffic roads, rest assured as you’ll be accompanied by our experienced tour guide who will lead the way.

The tour starts with a brief training session where we show you how to use and ride the MonsteRoller e-scooter. However, if you don’t have any experience with bikes or e-scooters, we recommend to arrive a bit earlier to make sure you have enough practice time, or even take a self-guided ride beforehand to make sure that you can ride confidently and we can set out swiftly to explore the sights. We designed our e-scooter tours for small groups, ensuring a cozy and friendly experience. Since it’s a one-hour ride, it’s important for us to keep it small to ensure that the time spent riding and seeing the sights are well balanced. Your tour guides are eager to share their love and knowledge of Budapest and we want to make sure you have time to ask questions while you explore the best of Gellért Hill and the Citadel.

Please note that the weight limit is 130 kg (287 lbs)
Tours start in all weather conditions, please dress accordingly. In case of cold weather, wear layered clothing! High heel shoes and short skirts are not recommended.
You have to arrive sober! Due to the nature of this activity, we reserve the right to cancel your ride without a refund if you are intoxicated.
All participants are required to sign our general conditions of contract on site before engaging in the activity (guests under 18 years old must have an adult sign for them). Our complete terms are available here.
Please note that for group bookings of 10 or more people, we reserve the right to split the group into two or more groups and start them a few minutes apart for safer riding and for the smoothest experience.

Must-do when in Budapest!

We did the tour on 17th May and had the (bad) luck that the weather wasn’t really good. We started the tour dry but when we were at the top of the Citadel it started raining really bad but the view we got was indescribable! Bianca was our our guide and she was really great! I have laughed and enjoyed the ride really much. It’s easy to ride the bikes and it’s really a must-do when you are in Budapest!

Attila gave us an informative tour to interesting places, recommended the best thermal baths and restaurants and food to try. He was also super kind to help us take photos and videos throughout the tour. It was just the two of us in the session so it was like a private tour. We both had a great time despite the rain and the cold.

Do I need a driver's license?
What is needed to participate?
- Age limit: tour participants must be 14 years or older to drive (under adult supervision).
- You must have a valid photo ID card or a copy of your passport with you. One photo ID per group will be photographed as a deposit during the rental period.
- Due to the nature of the activity, drivers must be sober during the tour. If you arrive intoxicated, we will be forced to cancel your ride without a refund.

- Please arrive a few minutes early to get set for your tour without any rush.
What should I wear?

Where does my e-scooter tour start from?

Our Buda Castle tour starts from our Buda side location at Várkert rakpart 16, 1013 Budapest (open in Google maps). It’s a 3-minute walk from Döbrentei tér bus station (bus lines 8E, 108E, 110 or 112) or from Rudas gyógyfürdő station (bus lines 7 and 107; trams 19, 41 and 56).

The tour ends at the same location.

What if it rains?

Bookings are valid whether rain or shine, so please dress accordingly. But don’t worry: we can provide rain ponchos if needed, and gloves if it gets cold.

However, in case of extreme weather conditions or unforeseen events, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the activity until next availability. If we cancel for such reasons, you will receive a full refund.

Rescheduling tours: Tours can be rescheduled if given advance notice of more than 24 hours (based on availability). If you let us know within less than 24 hours that you cannot make it but would like to rebook for another date or time, or you don’t show up for your tour but would like to reschedule, you will be charged a rebooking fee of €15/person. How many people are in a tour group?
We're a large group. Can we ride together?

We’ll do our best to accommodate everyone who’d like to ride and to make sure you can ride together with your entire group. However, in case of large groups of 10 or more people, we reserve the right to divide the group into more than one group and start them a few minutes apart for maximum safety, and in order to minimize disturbance to city traffic. Thank you for understanding.

What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellations are available up to 24 hours before start time. After then, a 100% cancellation fee is charged.

Rescheduling tours: Tours can be rescheduled if given advance notice of more than 24 hours (based on availability). If you let us know within less than 24 hours that you cannot make it but would like to rebook for another date or time, or you don’t show up for your tour but would like to reschedule, you will be charged a rebooking fee of €15/person. Thank you for understanding.

Rescheduling rentals: MonsteRoller e-scooter rentals can be rescheduled based on availability. If you cannot make it at the original booked time, let us know as soon as you can and our team will do our best to offer you alternate options – however, please note that it’s subject to availability and in high season, we may not be able to give you another suitable option due to a large number of reservations. Please note that if you are trying to reschedule within 24 hours and we cannot give you another suitable date, you will not be entitled to a refund.
