Glide Through the Best Parks in Budapest

Spending time outdoors is one of the best things to do in Budapest during springtime. The city has many beautiful green parks full of flowers for you to visit. Below, we have listed some of our favourite parks that we love seeing during this season.

VÁROSLIGET

Városliget, or City Park, is a recently renovated, ginormous park filled with museums, historical sights, and attractions. Heroes’ Square and the Museum of Ethnography and Fine Arts are beside it, as well as the Budapest Zoo.

In addition, you can find Vajdahunyad Castle (which was inspired by Count Dracula’s castle in Transylvania), the House of Music, and the Museum of Ethnography. Széchenyi Thermal Bath is also located here, along with many cafes and restaurants.

One of the best things to do in Budapest during spring is visiting all the attractions and museums, enjoying a hearty meal at a traditional restaurant, and then letting off steam in the thermal water.

MARGARET ISLAND

In the centre of the Danube, you can see a large island accessible via Margaret or Árpád Bridge. It is a refreshingly green spot where locals and visitors hang out. Some of the best things you can do here include having a picnic, jogging, visiting the swimming pools, and relaxing in front of the enormous water fountain.

Margaret Island is also traffic-restricted, so it’s one of the best places to enjoy a relaxed and scenic ride in the heart of Budapest.

If you decide to explore the island, you will find fascinating ruins of old churches and buildings. During spring, the whole area blossoms with thousands of flowers, making for some great photo opportunities.

We included Margaret Island in our guide to the Best Things to Do in Budapest.

GELLÉRT HILL

Another of the best things to do in Budapest during spring is visiting Gellért Hill in the heart of the city. You can travel up by bus, on an e-scooter, or choose the scenic one-hour hiking route to the Citadel.

Our MonsteRollers are the most convenient and fun way to scale the heights and reach the Citadel — and our guided Budapest Citadel e-scooter tour offers the complete experience!

The Gellért Hill summit provides the best panoramic views in the city, and on our MonsteRoller e-scooters you can enjoy it without exhausting your legs and feet or relying on bus schedules.

You can also find the Philosopher’s Garden on Gellért Hill, a short walk or ride from the Citadel. This charming green spot is often overlooked by visitors, so it’s usually quiet. It offers the best view of Buda Castle and is home to statues of great thinkers like Jesus Christ, Gandhi, and Buddha. This wonderful space is also a stop on our Citadel tour.

FÜVÉSZKERT

Füvészkert is the first botanic garden in Budapest, established by ELTE University. You can find more than eight thousand species of plants here. If you visit during April, you can experience the yearly tradition of celebrating the Japanese cherry blossom.

You can visit for free and marvel at the trees during weekdays or pay an entrance fee at the weekend and be part of the Ohanami event.

There are many more things to do in this garden in Budapest, such as having a picnic under the falling petals with other visitors, looking at the exhibition of art students, and participating in various competitions.

MILLENÁRIS

Millenáris, on the Buda side of the city, has also been renovated and expanded recently. The park is situated next to Mammut Commercial Center and is close to Buda Castle.

The architecture is modern and unique, with mushroom-like installations and sitting areas. The best thing to do here is to visit one of the many exhibitions relating to the culture and lifestyle of Budapest.

Benefits of E-Scooter Rental in Budapest During Spring

There’s no doubt that one of the best things to do in Budapest during the spring season is to rent an electric scooter and check out all the sights around town. It’s not only a comfortable and fun form of transport, but it’s also cost-effective, convenient, and speedy.

Here are a few examples of why renting an e-scooter is a good idea…

On an electric scooter, you can enjoy the outdoors

Riding an e-scooter in the fresh spring air and through the city’s gorgeous scenery allows you to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of your surroundings.

You can enjoy the sunny weather without excessive heat and discover the attractions with fewer tourists around than in the summer season. Of course, it is worth checking out the weather forecast if you want to avoid finding yourself in a downpour! But don’t worry if the skies suddenly darken as we ride — we offer rain ponchos for all guests on our tours!

Budapest e-scooter rentals offer great flexibility

Renting an e-scooter allows you to go wherever you want without being restricted by public transportation schedules or parking limitations. So if you don’t want to spend your precious time waiting for a bus or looking for an e-scooter parking spot in this busy capital, renting an e-scooter is for you.

Did you know that the shared e-scooters in Budapest have designated parking zones? If you hop on one of these, you will need to keep looking at the map in the app to find the nearest place to end your ride. Of course, this means you could always end up a few minutes’ walk from your destination. Some popular areas, like Margaret Island and the entire 5th district (where our store is located!), have blanket restrictions, so you cannot park there at all.

What’s more, there are also numerous geofenced zones within the city where shared scooters slow down to walking speed. Naturally, this can be very annoying!

Because we’re not a scooter-sharing company, these limitations don’t apply to our vehicles. You can ride our MonsteRoller scooters on every street and bike lane and through every park!

With E-Magine, you can discover all the best things to do in Budapest freely, making your own plan for the day. Or, if you prefer, you can join our e-scooter Budapest Night tour!

Electric scooter rental in Budapest is affordable

Scooter rental is an affordable option for transportation, especially when splitting the cost with friends or family. Renting a car in the city is quite expensive and not worth your money because of traffic jams, and public transportation can also be costly if you want to purchase a pass for your whole group — and it’s not very comfortable or fast either.

In addition to being affordable and convenient, you also don’t even need a driving license to ride one of our MonsteRoller e-scooters.

Budapest e-scooter rentals and tours are fun!

Riding an e-scooter is a unique and exhilarating experience, perfect for creating memorable moments. If you are looking for fun things to do in Budapest during your visit, renting a scooter should be at the top of your list!
